The Spatial Pattern and Influencing Factors of Traffic Dominance in Xi’an Metropolitan Area

Metropolitan areas shoulder the crucial task of regional and even national economic development. Analyzing spatial patterns influencing factors metropolitan traffic dominance can provide a scientific basis for optimization its transportation industrial layout, which is conducive to development economy. Previous studies on paid little attention less so study these from perspective town units, though are basic units that narrow gap between urban rural thus achieve integration. The model comprehensively wholly reflect conditions, due multidimensional characteristics (including network density, arterial influence accessibility). Consequently, taking Xi’an area as an exemplar unit, this paper employs other methods pattern dominance. results show following: (1) accessibility had different distribution patterns; however, they were same in their superiorities relatively high main city or along both sides high-speed railways (HSRs), whereas low peripheral areas; (2) integrated consistently displayed “point-axis” pattern, with greater superiority east–west axis within 30 km city, especially city; (3) towns stable agglomeration correlation global formed three major modes local areas: high–high, low–low low–high aggregation. High–high mode was concentrated Xianyang mainly distributed Weibei hilly gully Qinling mountain always nested edge high–high (4) location, GDP elevation impact, construction intensity, population slope small town’s dominance, ability decreasing trend 2010 2022. Finally, discusses theoretical implications, practical values some prospects based research results.
